|
|
I got a d12 from someone who was less than honest, it had problems.
I have repaired two of the inputs and took one of the faders out and disassembled it and repaired it ( very painstaking).
I cannot get the input to channel 3 to work.
Is there a function somewhere on the machine that could be set in such a way as to cause the input to be voided?
I not only don't get an audio signal form it, the LED doesn't light when I crank up the gain to overdrive it.
I am familiar with it, I also have a D1600 , which the functions are very similar to.
While I had it apart I used an ohm meter to compare signal paths and I get continuity the same places as I do channel 4, which does work. The pot seems to be ok, and the contacts from the jack seem ok. I checked from the tip on a cable as well as the sleeve.
It looks like the circuit board for the inputs has nothing more than a couple of diodes or some other very minute semiconductors and the LEDs and pots, but other than that mostly traces.
I am thinking the minute semiconductors I am seeing certainly are too small to be op amps....??
My next move is to take it back out and look at it with jewelers goggles for bad solder joints and resolder the board.
Of course, it would help to know if I am missing something that might have that channel muted.
Any answers would be appreciated. |
