Since I read this message a few weeks ago I've spent quite some time listening to his productions and I really want to thank you for making me know Millolab. Very inspiring.

And since I'm here, today I've published the first track on my Soundcloud page. It would have been a full live performance on the Electribe 2 only except that the lag issue when switching some patterns compelled me to record it in three times. There is some noticeable voice stealing too or maybe it's just so much noticeable to me because I really know what is missing and where.

The music has been recorded on a Zoom R8 that I used to add a subtle reverb, EQ and compression too (in almost a very unaware way...)

Hey guys, I have just uploaded my first track to Soundcloud. Beats and marimba come from the E2S, the organ is a Hammond SK1 and the synth sounds come from the much maligned Roland Gaia.

Not sure what kind of music it would be classified as. It uses a blues scale so I've listed it as electronic blues, and my friend said it reminds him of Green Onions by Booker T and the MGs, so I call it Brown Onions.

Hope you enjoy it Smile

This is the second track I've published on Soundcloud but actually is the first one I accomplished exclusively on my E2 quite some time ago. This has been a real one-take live performance, recorded on a Zoom R8 that has been used to add some reverb, compression and EQ too. I had not much experience with my E2 so it's quite rougher than the previous one and maybe too long because sometimes I got confused or was out of time and I had to wait other 4 bars to change pattern, mute/unmute parts or edit sounds. I could trim some beats on my DAW but it's just a demo, so I keep it this way.

I have to say, I enjoyed that FAR more than your description made me think I would. Laughing

I read 'electric blues' and then tried to imagine Booker T on a 'tribe and feared the worst sort of 'cheesy keyboard demo' imaginable but it's actually really good. Got a nice, mellow groove to it and not at all the sort of thing I would expect to have been made on these machines.

You're right though - very difficult to classify. I'm not sure what I'd call it either but I don't think electric blues does you justice - well done!

Haha thanks a lot Disastrous, your feedback is much appreciated. I was hoping the Booker T reference might encourage people to listen to it but maybe it has the opposite effect Laughing

Thanks again man, glad you enjoyed it.

I've just uploaded a third demo on SoundCloud.

https://soundcloud.com/elksoncouch/catch-me-demo

The backing track is a live performance on the Electribe2 that sequenced a Blofeld as a sound reinforcement for its own parts. Since the zoom R8, that I used to record, has only two inputs, both the instruments were recorded through the mixer on a single stereo track.

I liked the track at this stage but I had some things in mind that I couldn't do with the Electribe, so I decided to overdub a lead part playing it on the MiniNova on another stereo track.

At the end I tried to glue everything messing around with levels, reverb and effects on the Zoom R8 but I'm not good at all when it comes to mix and, well, there wasn't much I could do to separate sounds at this time with just two stereo tracks. I tried to do it at the beginning on the E2 and Blofeld but maybe this time I've used too many sounds too. To be short, the mix is no way as I would have liked. Quite, busy, unbalanced, muffled and so on... Shocked

Short jam with some dark, bass-heavy pre-composed loops. Using the Korg Electribe 2 with its audio processed through the mini KP2S adding slight Fuzz Fistortion and Korg Monotron Delay with its analog filter and glitchy delay effects at the end of the signal chain. Enjoy!

hi all, i just released a compilation album/tape/mix of 69 tracks i've made with the electribe 2. always lurking in the electribe forum since i got one in may 2015 and happen to really enjoy making music on it. it's limitations range from beneficial to temporarily frustrating, but it's so hands on and engaging that i haven't made music on the computer since i've owned it. hope u find some tracks u dig.

Millolab strikes again.

Even cheesy vocals sample are just fine after all.
Listening to this, one would think there are more MFX than a single one in the e2. Reverb on snare, delay on lead and rhodes.

Edit : seems there's a bit of Eventide H9.

Shocked

super full bodied sounding track man ! great choices n cool vibe, the bass glued it all together real well. curious what ur doing holding pads in trigger mode in the beginning, can you make a pad play through it's sequence by changing trigger pad options in the settings or something? and was that so you could introduce the MFX more seamlessly or?

well performed track, great idea using the midi to expand on the melody without having to juggle mute track and getting to keyboard mode. i never use the part > and < buttons, but maybe u prefer it, u can hold shift + what pad u want as a little shortcut to select channels.
