Razz hello, I bought January 5, 2015 a korg Electribe 2.
I saw that installed the firmware 1.02.
I downloaded from the latest version of the firmware that is 1.03.
What is the best version? the 1.02 or 1.03?

Yes. 1.03 mitigates the gap between certain patterns, but doesn't quite fix it. It also enabled ship+pad shortcuts that are listed in the parameter guide.

you have to use them the shift shortcuts, or else you'll be lost in menus. I do wish you could use shift+pad to soundlessly select them. Instead you need shift+trigger/keyboard+pad to do so.

I don't get that. The Shift+Pad combos do work "silently" in every mode the pads can be in (Part Erase, Trigger, Sequencer, Keyboard, Chord, Step Jump, Pattern Set), as far as I can see.

Only exception is, that when you are in Part Mute mode, the part which belongs to the pad gets muted or unmuted, which most certainly is a bug.

In all the other modes the menu option pops up without triggering the standard action of the pad, right?

Are you on firmware 1.03? Because now when you hit Shift+Part, it jumps to a menu shortcut.

Do you mean soundlessly select parts or soundlessly select menu shortcuts?

I think that's where my confusion came from. I thought you're talking about "soundlessly selecting menu shortcuts". But it seems you were talking about "soundlessly selecting parts".

I'm on 1.03 and was talking about "soundlessly selecting menu shortcuts" in the post above.

No the menu shortcuts are fine. I just miss being able to hit Shift+Pad like on the old electribes to quickly jump to a part without sounding it. Granted its only one more button combination (Shift+Trigger/Keyboard/Chord+ Pad) but it does make a difference.

I bought an Electribe 2 in Singapore this week and it reports software version 1.05. I downloaded the latest from the Korg website which was 1.03, but didn't overwrite what I had when the Electribe reported the current version as being 1.05.

^ Wow! 1.05? I wonder when they will release a new version for all their customers and more importantly what they fixed and changed.

Could be just a factory release including some extra languages or something that is only locally relevant in the APAC region. They usually wait with a public update until something has been added that is of use to every owner.
