|
|
Hi - I've noticed several threads on this topic but no clear answers to my problem, which seems to be a common one.
I bought the Legacy Collection and Digital Collection in 2004 for my old PowerPC Mac. I'm sure I've had it working on earlier versions of Intel Mac OSXs, but I can't remember. I also have the dongle, which is apparently not needed anymore.
I've downloaded the last versions of the software (2013) and done all the usual stuff to activate the plugins. I get the LONG authorisation number and type it in but keep getting the error: No valid licence, or similar. A bit of a dead end.
Is there still someone alive at Korg who can physically intervene and sort this out for us?? It's been paid for, registered and I just want to be able to use it on my new Yosemite drive!
Any serious help appreciated, thanks. John. |

I would suggest calling your Korg Country Distributor. The Korg Country Distributor (e.g. Korg USA) is responsible for supporting ALL Korg products in that country, including software.
Unfortunately the old (2004) versions of Korg Legacy Collection (KLC) won't run on current OSes. In the Mac world, the current KLC versions are 64-bit compatible.
You may end up having to buy the new software $199.99. If you have any type of Korg controller item that comes with M1 Le, then you could use that to upgrade to the full KLC for $99.
UPDATE 1
I was looking on the Korg User Net "Older News" section:
http://www.korguser.net/Login.asp?LAN=1&lockcode=&main=100
and I found a May 1, 2010 annoucement that "development and support for USB copy protected versions of KLC has ended"
http://www.korguser.net/Login.asp?LAN=1&lockcode=&main=127
Unfortunately I think you are out of luck unless Korg allows to upgrade to the new versions. I upgraded years ago (2007) for $99 (I have owned the KLC since the original controller/dongle version).
UPDATE 2
In the Korg User Net software shop (I assume your old products are still registered), it appears "registered KLC users can upgrade to v1.2 versions of MOST of the products for $15: (scroll to the bottom where it says "KLC-1/AE/MS20v1.0 users..."
