|
|
Last night it just quit - I can get sound from the MS20 Mini I bought less than a month ago through the headphone jack but it is quiet as a mouse when I run the cord out from the main signal output. It stopped working, worked when I tried it again later last night, won't work at all today. Has this happened to anyone else? It sounds fine through the headphone jack for now, but I spent $600 on this thing. |

Hi,
Very strange. Are you sure it is not your headphone (bad contact in the cable)?
Else, get back to the dealer and let him check it. Of course it would be handy then that your issue is reproducible...
Good luck. _________________ microKORGXL, Kaossilator Pro, monotribe, SQ-1, volca fm, Kross 88 BK

Thank you - no, I wasn't using a headphone, but a mixer. I tried several different cords and outputs and the result was always the same - headphone output works, regular one doesn't. Unfortunately the dealer is a website (zzsounds) so I just have to return it and we're talking about who has to pay return shipping. |

Hi,
Sorry, I missed the point that the phones always working while the main one does not.
But that would mean that the main output must have a bad contact, because both the main and headphone outputs tap from the last stage of the VCA. Only for the headphones, the signal is put through a stereo headphone driver amp.

Yep, that's what other people have told me, as well. Too bad zzsounds never sent me the warranty card for the brand new unit - I'm not talented enough to take it apart and fix whatever might need a soldering. If I felt confident that the headphone output will work forever, I'd consider just dealing with that, but I shouldn't have to do a workaround on a unit less than a month old.
$80 at UPS store to pack and ship and zzsounds returns will not pick up the phone or answer e-mails. I'm stressin! They also said it has to be in the original box - which they never sent; they used their own. |

No warranty card, no original box...
Damn, I can imagine you're stressing...
Hopefully you get a new unit back or your money.
Or check if there is no local Korg dealer which may fix it, even if you did buy it at zzsounds... _________________ microKORGXL, Kaossilator Pro, monotribe, SQ-1, volca fm, Kross 88 BK
