|
|
Hello
Just received my new Electribe 2. I'm about to go buy a memory card for it. My question is - is a memory card REQUIRED to write and save files? Or does it just add to the on board memory. Thanks |

You'll need a memory card if you want to export stuff to Abelton, or as .wav files to use elsewhere. Also you need one to update the firmware, the latest version is 1.03 and you'll want to install this ASAP. Also the Event Recorder writes to SD card when it feels like working properly. Otherwise you don't need one, you can save patterns to internal memory. _________________ If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.
Volca Sample, FM, Beats, Kick. OP-1, Monologue, Pocket Operators. And an ipad. |

In my opinion, even if you don't use wav or Live export features, you need a memory card to manage patterns (backup, import better default patterns made available on these forums by cool chaps) and general compatible file transfert between the computer and the electribe2 (future OS update comes to mind).
Mine is an old 1GB. _________________ My electribe2 lousy patterns and stuff | KORG gear: NTS-1, nanoKEY2, electribe2/2S, WS/SR, WS/EX (on storage)

I agree with Poumtschak and I can only add that you don't need a huge card, even the WAV export does not eat up a lot of space, those are 4 bar loops.
Smaller cards are really cheap. I bought a 16GB and now I can see it was overkill. _________________ Electribe2 / Volca Beats / Volca FM / Monologue |

Talk about overkill... I got a 32gb card before I'd even got my electribe, but it was SO cheap!
Anyone else remember memory being £1/mb? _________________ Loving My First Electribe!!!

Look! Look what you've done!
Now every grandpa around will come here and rant about how it was back then...
