|
|
I use a Radial J33 phono preamp DI to play LP's through 2 channels on my D16XD. I utilize the phantom power on each of the two channels to power the DI, then I pan one channel hard left, and the other hard right, and play through my monitors. On the Meter Track View I can see if either channel is clipping and, if so, reduce the input at the channel fader.
But yesterday I noticed that when I change to the Channel View, it would show clipping, even though there was no clipping when the channels were viewed on the Meter Track View.
I cannot eliminate the clipping on the Channel View by moving the trim or the fader level. But I can eliminate the clipping on the channels, as shown in the Channel View, if I engage each of the -26dB pads, and then adjust the trim on each channel to a higher level than before.
Weirdly, I don't sonically notice clipping on either channel when the Meter Track View shows no clipping, even when clipping is indicated on the Channel View.
Can anyone provide some insight on this ?
