Anyone tried hooking these VA units together? Any probs or crap signals going to audio ins in either unit etc?

Wondering how powerful set up a tr-8 an E 2 would be for gigs........

Confused

add to that their newly announced mixer unit and you'd be set.

That new Roland MX-1 looks cool, but it might not be so hot if you don't have other AIRA gear. I was hoping Korg would have done something like this already in conjunction with their Volca line.

I'm hoping to pick up an MX-1, TR8, and TB3 combo soon myself.

Yeah the mx1 thingy looks good but I don't really understand how I'd fit it in to what I want. I understand its basically a sound card with a mixer an fx built in.....(?) I'd rather have just 2 units running one into the other then into a sound system.......

Anyway I think E2 an Tr8 looks the most portable for gigs etc
Although the E2 an volca sample looks even more portable. But I don't know VS would stand up on as a main drum machine. Demos sound good like........

I think the e2 is VERY capable as a drum machine. Unless, of course, you plan to use it solely for synths, freeing up additional parts! Smile

Yeah I think I'd use E2 for synths alone and percussive effects etc...then an out an out drum machine...should be enough right......

i dont know enough about the tr8 as a drum machine to judge but i too agree that e2 paired with another device such as an analog drum machine would be a good combo although not sure how people feel about the clickyness of certain sound parts.... i for one use most of my s**t on mono so rarely get that.

Please feel free to indulge me on this Wink

It was my first plan to have E2 and volca sample......

Do you really think it'll stand up as a drum blaster!

Yeah, and apples are better than oranges...

Seriously, TR-8+TB-3+ESX is a combo that does serious damage.

I just put in an order on Sweetwater for the new System-1m. Can't wait to pair it up with my E2! I might finally be able to achieve the no-computer setup I've been wanting for a long time. Cool

Volca sample better than a TR-8? I mean... I like my Volcas, but come on. The TR-8 is one of best drum machines on the market today (especially when you look at value for money). Volca Sample could learn a thing or two from Roland here.

I got my TR-8 as a nice to have, but it turns out it has become the center of my entire setup. It's just so quick to get something great going on it, and the sound quality is amazing. Roland may be frowned upon as a brand around here, but the TR-8 is a gem and in a totally different class than the Volcas.

Depends what you want though......volca sample is the Swiss Army knife of drum machines. Tr8 provides the same, some might say over used sounds. While sample, is whatever the heck you want it to be. Plus you can't get 4 bar patterns on tr8 or power it by batteries. Plus the size.... I think Roland can learn a lot from the volcas Wink x

I'd consider a TR8, but with what they are charging for the updates for new drum sounds Roland convinced me to shop elsewhere. After spending 500 dollars on a drum machine they want me to drop almost 100 for a very small sound set?

I'll take my 500 and buy the ES2 or another sampler and load my Gold Baby classic drum machine samples on it...At 600 you are damn near entering used Machine Drum territory...

The only draw back for me for the Volca Sample is that if you want to sequence it with the Electribe every sound is locked individual MIDI channels, instead of one MIDI channel and using different notes to trigger different sounds.

Hell for 500 dollars you could get an ES1 and ER1 and have tons of options for drums : )
