Probably a silly question, but if the Kronos 2 is set to auto power-off mode, then how do you turn it back on again?

Do you have to reach round the back and use the power switch twice (hopefully not) or can you just push some button and it wakes up?

Cheers

Good question.

It's part of the 3.0.2 OS, seems like it's turned on by default. I expect it's like a computer, where pressing some buttons (Not keys) might wake it back up.

I don't know if their "auto off" is simply a hibernate/sleep or a legitimate power off. If it's the latter, you would likely need to flip the switch to the off position to kill the power to the motherboard, and flip it back on revive the beast.

Maybe something to check for someone who has 3.0.2 installed.

I'm new to 3.0.2. Is this feature in ALL of the Kronii running 3.0.2 or just the Kronos 2?

It should be in all; I'm running the Gen 1 Kronos 73, and I have the option to set the auto-power off. It will prompt you every time you boot up, until you turn it off and then it'll never prompt you.

Hmmm... didn't know this feature existed. Do you know offhand where the setting is located?

I want to say "Global... something... something... System related"

I'm not at my Kronos, but that would be my guess Smile

Not sure about the Kronos 2 but on the Kronos X:

"You can control the amount of time before the system turns
off, or disable Auto Power-Off entirely. To do so:
1. Go to the Global P0: Basic Setup page.
2. In the menu, select the Auto Power Off Setting…
command.
The dialog box below will appear.
3. Press the “Auto Power-off” popup button to select the
length of idle time after which the power will turn off.
If you don’t want the power to turn off automatically,
set this to Disabled.
4 hours is the default.
You can also reach this dialog box from the two warning
dialogs associated with Auto Power-Off, as described below."

I can't see "Auto Power Off" in the menu. My Kronos has the OS 3.0.2, it is a Kronos 73 (not X or 2). Any idea?

I don't have this menu item on my Kronos 61 also. I guess that the motherboard of this Kronos version still does not support this function.
It's simply too old. Confused

Apparently, it only works if the Kronos was built after 2013

I don't think anyone has answered the OP's question. I received my K2 88 last night. Believe it or not, the auto-power-off actually flips the mechanical switch in back to the off position. Exactly as if you had turned it off manually.

I have an original Kronos 88 and I don't see the option.

This feature was implemented on the KRONOS for conformity with EU power-saving rules. The menu command should appear only on KRONOS hardware which includes the necessary additional hardware. This hardware was added mid-production, so it's not as simple as KRONOS or KRONOS X etc. All KRONOS 2 models should have it, I believe.

Hi everyone. I recently bought a demo X88 which might have been manufactured either in may of 2012 (create date of Factory directory) or Oct of 2013 (date of init.pcg).

I just upgraded to 3.0.2 and there is no auto power off option in the global option drop down but my Kronos does power itself off after a long period of inactivity and did so even before the upgrade.

I was wondering if the keyboards of others who don't have the menu option also power down automatically and if anyone knows the approximate date that the new functionality was deployed. (I'm not sure what date range "mid-production" covers.)

I also don't understand why my keyboard doesn't display the option if it is capable of powering itself down.

P.S. When my unit powers down, I have to turn the back power switch off and back on to re-power the unit. Pressing the screen or buttons does nothing.
