|
|
I have all 4 and want to get them running off of one power-supply, and what better way to power them than with isolated outputs from the voodoo Power2+ that I have lying around.
I plan on making my own adapter cables to fit properly and have the appropriate center positive orientation, but I am concerned about the 100mA output on the first 4 power outputs.
Does anyone know the actual milliamp draw of each Volca unit?
To elaborate further, I plan on having one other output on 12v mode powering my Rolls MX44S mixer, and to have one of the sag outputs (allows you to drop power as low as 4v) for the Korg Kaoss mini 2S which requires 4.5v.

Nevermind, I forgot I had something to test that.
I plugged all of them in one by one with the Korg KA350 adapter, and each of them only sipped 20mA (0.02 amps) |

I just received KVgears 2 daisy-chains and 1 2 mA power-supply and connected it to my 4 Volcas and my Monotribe and let them run for approx. 1 hour using their own loudspeakers at full volume. (I know, that is not a scientific test ) Anyhow, I did not experience any problems and the power supply did not get warm at all... |

I was going to order another daisy chain cable from KVgear, but decided the more complex route might be more fun!
Also considered (still mulling it over) getting a Pedaltrain Volto to power all the Volca's off of one battery power supply using the same method mentioned about making the appropriate cables. (2.1x5.5mm barrel plugs for the Volto, and 1.7x4.0mm barrel plugs for the Volca's) |
