How do you mount/secure your nanopad?

Hi all,

I see several folks here have/use a nanopad. How do you secure it to your Kronos for gigging? I've had it fall off my Kronos while playing live and am looking for a stable solution? Thoughts? Experiences?

I stick mine on with Velcro. I've got a K73, so it goes on an angle on the top left hand side for me.

Is that paper attached to your fantom ( left and right ) ?
And i sthat an ipad to the right side of the Kronos?

Nice setup..

... Oh, i still think that the nano pads should have been an integral part of the kronos....

depends if you ' left hand' or right hand it.

the nano sits nicely on my 88, top left hand corner, on top of cabinet fabric.

The cabinet liner fabric keeps it stationary. this material does not slide or scratch the Kronos. I don't gig or push the nano around so this solution is good for me

Yes, it's just paper on the Fantom left and right, they just have scribbled show notes on them - usually as a reminder for when we've recently changed an arrangement.

On the right of the Kronos is actually a Google Nexus 7. I run an app on it that lets me tweak my in-ear monitoring mix during a show. It too is stuck onto the Kronos with Velcro.

I agree it would have been nice if the pads had been integrated, especially since I migrated from the M3 which *did* have the pads built-in! On the other hand, it's also handy being able to choose the placement of the pads. What I'd really like is for Korg to release a 4x4 pad layout version of the Nanopad that would site on the Kronos much better.

Dave, can you elaborate the velcro setup? Or do you have a close-up shot of how you mount the Nanopad? Did you glue velcro strips on top of your Kronos and on bottom of your Nanopad?

No problem. I used self-adhesive Velcro tape, like these here:

I apply them by sticking a couple of strips of the "hook" Velcro to the bottom of the Nanopad using it's own adhesive layer. I then Velcro matching lengths of "loop" Velcro tape onto those and then peel off the backing paper, now carefully position it on the Kronos and push down. Leave it for a few seconds for the adhesive to grip and now you can rip the Nanopad off as the Velcro parts.

I used Velcro to attach the remote for my Bose L1 Classic to my Kronos. But I didn't want glue residue if I decided to remove the Velcro, which I did when I upgraded to the L1 Model II. So I put a patch of gaffers tape down first and then the self adhesive Velcro on the gaffers tape. When I removed the Velcro a year later, there was no sticky mess.

Probably the easiest failsafe way to atach all the stuff... But it really hurts tomsee the ugly tape on the good equipment when nothing is attached

A quick and easy fix is to use shelf liner (the rubberized fabric).

I buy mine for a buck at Dollar Tree.

Things in its favor: no adhesive required (no residue), works with any piece of gear, movable, and cheap. I use it now to secure my MacBook Pro to the top of my KronosX. There's no slippage - very steady and it can be moved to either side as easy as picking it up and putting it down. Better than gaffers tape or velcro IMO.

The Nano is a bit light - this stuff might work better with something more substantial like a drum machine, but I use it as a mat for small gear like my harmonicas and they stay in place on the right side of my Triton which has a slick slanted surface.

I roll up a small bit of gaffer tape and stick it at the top right of my 88. I use it mainly to right hand big dance chords while filtering with my left hand.

I use a cheap adjustable-height computer table that can slide just enough below my KRONOS under the keyboard stand. It is strategically situated in the middle so I can use either left or right hand as needed. Mine is somewhat trapezoidal with a retaining bar that nicely keeps the nanopad in place. I purchased it at Walmart a few years back. Works perfectly for me.

Incidentally, there is enough room for a notepad and pen, USB flash drives, stylus etc.
