|
I was running audio through USB from my computer to the Kronos. Then a sharp noise happened and this message popped up:
"a problem has been detected which may have been caused by cycling power too quickly korg kronos"
Made me shut it off.
Any idea what happen? Definitely want to avoid this again. Glad it wasn't live.
Thanks!

Something like that sounds like a power fluctuation, did the kronos reboot or just shut right off? _________________ Korg Kronos 88 2, Korg Kronos 73, Kurzweil K2600S

It didn't reboot on it's own. It just had that message on there with a black screen and I had to shut it off and cut it back on. |

I had a space heater in the room which dims the lights in the room when on. Could that have been the problem? |

Yes it can and will, lights dimming means you have a poor connection or are overloading the circuit. |

In the winter months it can be very dry, causing static electricity. I've been zapping everything in my house lately. That might cause it too. Touching the Kronos with a small or big static charge can cause it to freak out. I always ground myself to something metal before touching the Kronos in the winter. Not saying that's the cause but it's good to eliminate the possibility.
* A UPS battery backup with AVR can help too. _________________ Korg Kronos-61, Korg Triton Le-61, Korg R-3, Alesis Vortex, Edirol PCR-M80, Yamaha Motif XF-61, Roland JV-1080, Roland D-5, E-MU Classic Keys, Kawai Q-80 Sequencer, iPad Pro 9.7, Roland A-49 |

Not to worry mine did that about a week after i got it and it has been fine since. I just turned it off and restarted it. Still think there was a power surge but i had no problem since. Let us know if it works. Crank it up! |

I've had my K2 73 for almost a month. It did this to me on the second day. I was testing organ sounds, and don't think I had a power spike. I cycled the power switch and it hasn't done that again (knocking on the side panels). Hopefully it was a glitch. _________________ Kronos 2 73 and NanoPad2 user. |

FYI - About 4 weeks ago my new Kronos X auto-rebooted without warning. I had my mobile phone lying on top of it, a call came in and the K rebooted. I've kept the mobile away from it and has not happened again.
I guess the Kronos is pretty sensitive to electromagnitic signals... _________________ Kronos X-88, Nanopad2, Tascam US122 MKii, Roli Rise 49 |

That has also happened to me with a cell phone next to the Kronos. _________________ Korg Kronos-61, Korg Triton Le-61, Korg R-3, Alesis Vortex, Edirol PCR-M80, Yamaha Motif XF-61, Roland JV-1080, Roland D-5, E-MU Classic Keys, Kawai Q-80 Sequencer, iPad Pro 9.7, Roland A-49 |

I will need to try this because I always have my iphone with me. I never had any issues with my other keys, having my iPhone on the top all the time.
