This also shows us how pricey the technology of good time stretch and good pitch shift. The Octatrack has both. Korg put out a good sampling keyboard microSampler that had both...it was $600 at release. But since Korg fans won't pay that much for quality pitch shift and time stretch in one box I'm guessing korg had to sacrifice time stretch to keep in the budget of what their market will bare.

Korg's release schedule shows their dedication to time stretching. |

Outside of Korg's release schedule dedication, James Pullen (the dude that has the ES2) posted long ago that it does not have time stretch. While James speaks very highly about the ES2, he does mention the lack of time stretch as being the only really short coming. _________________ Korg PX5d

Wow, what a letdown. I'll definitely be passing on this one as well. The ESX slays this thing. |

It might very well. When the es2 comes out I intend to compare it with the esx and potentially but one of them to pair with my e2.
And on that note, is anyone here using the esx and e2 together? _________________ www.soundcloud.com/rob-labs |

I'm working on a (potential Bandcamp) project where as much of the music as possible is created on Electribes, real and virtual. This meant going back to my ESX-1, which i haven't used in a while because of the E2 excitement. I was immediately struck at how "complete" it is, all the little things that are missing from the E2 are there on the ESX-1. If they do sort out the E2, there will be far less workarounds to think about and it will just fly. But the ESX-1 still is a very powerful and easy to use piece of kit. I'll be pairing it up with the E2 pretty soon and i can't wait, i'm certain it'll be sweet!! I'm also waiting for a recently purchased EMX-1 to arrive, because i am just a sucker for these badboys... _________________ If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.
