|
|
I have my Volcas linked and driven via midi from my sequencer software (The ancient Yamaha XGworks) and it was driving me crazy that all the volcas would start playing their stored sequence every time I pressed play.
It suddenly dawned on me that 'Clearing' [Func + Clear All] the sequences in each of the volcas first would allow me to
A) Trigger midi notes from the software either live from my keyboard or from stored tracks.
B) Start a stored sequence on the volca at anytime by un-clearing [Func + Clear All for a second time ] the Volca sequence, and because it was already playing the 'cleared' track the now recovered track would be in sync
In addition because the notes and motion recording on keys and Sample are recorded separately they can also be enable d/ disabled separately so that your filter changes can be applied or disabled to notes triggered over midi
Hope this is helpful

Nice tip.I didn't know about B.
I did notice you can switch midi clock to Internal which should stop play from triggering.Hold Function while turning on,then press 6.(Volca Keys).
Similar, but your way has that nice sequence restore that I will have to try out. |
