I hate to disappoint, but the bottom of the Kronos is all compressed wood or MDF.

is this same with Kronos X? I'm planning to get one. But hate have my board built on wood.

Who knows one day people in this forum might start complaining "my good looking kronos wood parts were eaten by insects!"

My Kronos2-61 is not wood on the bottom. Don't know about the other versions.

Just had an M3 in for service... Had forgotten about the wood bottom till I moved it. Can't say I like that design but it's held up and seems very stable.

All versions of the K61 have a metal base, it's only the Weighted key versions (K73, K88) that have the MDF - I think you'll find that any weighted key synth is built on a solid base... My XV-88 is also MDF.

@jimsweb, I really wouldn't let it put you off, the reality is that you have no choice I'm afraid. Plenty of classic synths have had wood/particleboard/MDF in them, I don't recall any of them suffering from terminal termite attacks Wink

Very nice, reminiscent of my late Oasys. Are the sides stable enough to lift the Kronos with your fingers in the recessed area on both sides?

Are any of you using ipads or tablets with your Kronos?

Kronos 2 has vents on top along whole board, Kronos 1 and may be X doesn't.
Also only K2 has auto sleep function.

I wonder why this K bright ends offered on that site do not have vents like OASYS had? That would be a double benefit.
