I'm using an old iphone 3G and midi mobilizer 1 along with an app called midi toolbox to replicate a 'song mode' on the E2S. Works great, can record a whole songs worth of pattern changing, knob tweaking and live pad playing. It will even loop the midi file you create for endless playback.
Another cool thing by doing this, your midi sequence is now disconnected from a pattern, so you can set up blank patterns on the E2S and use them as sound banks and switch them freely anywhere in the beat.
