Hey guys. I have a question regarding sustain pedals. I have a pedal that has given me a lot of trouble. I haven't been able to make it work. I have the Studiologic VFP 1/25 and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It will sustain notes randomly while connected. I have tried switching the polarity in the GLOBAL menu, but that doesn't make a different, it won't work. I am thinking that is not the right pedal for this Keyboard. I used to use that pedal for other Korg a long time ago and it worked fine. Now the pedal doesn't work with my Korg M1 either, so I am assuming is the pedal.

The question is, which is a good sustain pedal that will not give me problems like this, something that I can just connect and play. I will use this pedal primarily for my Korg Extreme.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same issue. Tried 3 different pedals. Did you ever resolve it?
My story
I just bought an 88 key Korg Triton Extreme (first operating system--I don't think ever been upgraded). It also did NOT include a sustain pedal, so I purchased an M-AUDIO SP2 universal sustain pedal from Amazon, but when that wasn't working, I bought a universal sustain pedal universal 'Soraco' brand (includes Korg compatibility per Amazon. My third attempt was to actually go KORG, and bought a DS1H. But the problem still exists.

The Issue:
during play, it intermittently stops working.
To reconnect pedal:
Sometimes, I have to step on the pedal before plugging in.
Sometimes, I have to turn off/on with my foot on the pedal
eventually, after a combination of attempts mentioned above, it starts working again.
And on a rare occasion, it will kick in and start working again, mid playing)
Please help

The unit may very well have a bad or cold solder joint where 5he sustain pedal is located. Its a simple repair. A techcian can easily do it for you. Just wiggle the pedal input and see if that clears the hanging notes.

You might also try Half Damper Calibration from the Global pull-down menu.

Hi,

I am successfully using a Roland sustain pedal for years with my Triton extreme 61.

This pedal is a Roland DP-8. I think the DP-10 should fit the job too (but not tested personally).

Additional info : For the Pedal Switch, I am using a Korg PS-1.

Hope this helps !

The KORG DS-1H works with all KORG keyboards

If this pedal does not work, the problem is not with the pedal.
