Before all, sorry for my bad english, i'm french people.

A KingKorg recently joined my little Home Studio. Nice machine for a "Virtual Analog". It sounds good. Although directs commands are numerous, there are still too many fundamental hidden commands in menus not really pleasing. So I set out to create an editor.

It's a version under development therefore guarantee 100% reliable;)
The Vocoder Effects and functions are not yet active. There will be a "pay" version with these features, library management etc .... We'll see;)

The editor is "bidirectional". If you change the patch, the screen is updated. If you are servicing the physical Korg panel, use the "request dump" function to update the software screen.

It can be downloaded below, exclusively for Windows XP, 7, 8 , 10 with .NET framework 3.0 or later.

http://www.baloran.com/store/index.php?route=journal2/blog/post&journal_blog_post_id=14

Create a directory and unzip the file into it.

To configure the software, click (left or right) the red LED "setup" above logos.

For dialogue between KingKorg and the software works, if you are in USB, select I / O midiin (KingKorg) / midiout (KingKorg) and make sure your KingKorg is in flux USB or USB + Midi (g18 parameter) . Similarly, system exclusive must be received (g27 = enable).

Good tests, I look forward your comments.

The subject seems to interest many people Question It does not matter, I love my KingKorg still good and I continue the development of the editor Wink

Small question whether a Korg specialist goes through here:

The vocoder has 16 bands. If I pass the envelope Folower to value 127 (Hold mode), I can read the values of the bands. But changing bands seems impossible. These parameters appear read-only?

Data Hold forming |
Band 1 .. Band 16 ID: SubID = 07: 0E .. 07: 1D

Sincerely,

A screen to explain a little my previous question.
http://www.baloran.com/KingKorg/Screen_2.jpg
The button right Envelop Folower Sensibility is direct access to Hold formant. This allows to use the vocoder as a "vowel filter" on normal sounds. But I can only capture the formants, not build them by direct action of the 16 bands.

And two others to show the progress of the tool.

It's just great that you offer something like this!
I am no longer owner of a KK, because I was missing this kind of effort, plus some minor KK updates, from Korg, making a nice synth a really good one.

But I think you deserve some positive feedback!

The artist's talent is more responsible than the KingKorg but from 4'00 there is magic that arises ..

I know this video quite well and have been watching it around thirty times. Cool
It's the best synth performance I have seen from Cory Henry so far (He does some nice stuff with Moog LPs as well).

Great stuff, an editor like this should have been shipped with the KingKorg when it launched! I've been playing around with the editor for a while now and it is so much easier to create new programs.
Are you continuing development on the editor?

Thank you ! You are the first user feedback : wink:
Yes , I will continue the development when I have some time .
These days , I worked on the GEM RP- X . The information and the user community is even smaller than for the King Korg , but it also sounds wonderful.

Regards

Sorry , I have still not found a (cross) development platform compatible with all OS . Java does not convince me for this kind of development. Indeed , the Editor only works on PC Windows, can be on Virtual Machine (Like Parallels) if hardware Midi is supported?

Since the time I say it, I'll have to eventually offer me a Mac Wink

A new version is online Wink . It integrates the management of the vocoder , effects and an outline of libraries manager which already allows open kklibs files and send individual sound to KingKorg .
