Would be great to see a Havian 400 version with the same specs as the pa4x..
There would be no competition at all for such an arranger stage piano.. |

Careful...
Apparently, asking for a weighted 88 with a FULL arranger implementation is frowned on by some here |

Well, its still bugging me that none of the big companies ever released a ToTl arranger with 88 keys... Jsut add 2 more HD pianos to an 88 key version op PA4x. And it will be awesome... |

I have always felt that the idea that piano players, because presumably they can actually PLAY well, somehow deserve or need less of an arranger than 61 synth action arranger players need, is an illogical viewpoint.
Quite the reverse, to be honest. It takes playing skill to leverage the best out of a TOTL arranger. I have an uncomfortable feeling that 50%+ of what's under the hood in a PA3/4X isn't even being touched by most of its users...
The only thing working against the 88 TOTL is weight... To get a fully weighted (none of these bastard half synth weighted 88's is ever going to impress a pianist) action into a case strong enough to support it well is going to add quite a bit of heft. After all, a 76 plastic PA4X already tops the scales at 36 lbs. You can probably imagine a decent 88 as adding another 5-10 lbs. That's getting into G70 country!
Mind you, a LOT of home players buy Clavinova's, which are huge heavy pieces of furniture, and expensive as hell. It's hard to think that Korg wouldn't want a piece of that pie! The current Havian's seem so... half-hearted |
