Ah man, and to think I wasted 40 quid on a Midi thru box before tying this! Great find. I've run out of midi thru connections already so this might allow me to expand further ...

Yes you can select a different midi channel per track. It looks like the channels are set to their respective track numbers by default, but you can change them. I haven't used the app much yet.
