Re: KRONOS Relaunched!

In fairness, neither have Yamaha or Roland. I'm honestly not sure what revolutionary new thing awaits. They're all damn fine keyboards. I However, all of these things are really more computer stuff. If I was in charge of R&D at any of the big three, I'd be at a loss in terms of what the next new ...

Re: KRONOS Relaunched!

Since you don’t want to use a search engine to answer your question, let Piano Man Chuck help you. Not sure I understand the snark. You made a statement, I asked a question. Google didn't make the statement, you did, so I asked you. Your point doesn’t make sense, Google never makes statements in a f ...

Re: KRONOS Relaunched!

Then by your logic, the Kronos 2 should have been called the Kronos 1.2. For anyone to believe anything else, they’re just fooling themselves. This speaks to my previous question, which you didn't answer. Were the X and 2 releases equally trivial, i.e. the hardware changed but the feature set didn't ...

Re: KRONOS Relaunched!

What you complainers are really saying is this: Korg should have a new platform other than Kronos, by now.

Re: KRONOS Relaunched!

Why is the “3” label annoying? There was the original Kronos, the Kronos X, and then the Kronos 2. All three are substantially the same with some tech improvements. That’s exactly what has happened with the “3”. Is “2” an annoying label as well? Why would there be a “4” as soon as 2027? The next ste ...

Re: KRONOS Relaunched!

If they're not planning on the actual launch until May, that means we're looking at 2026, maybe even 2027 before the Kronos 4, i.e. an actual new version with a substantial feature set improvement that would make selling my Kronos 2 worthwhile. Nonetheless, as annoying as I find the "3" label, I ...

You people should have waited until NAMM 2025. Korg is coming out with a new flagship workstation using a quantum computer. Some type of Quantum Entanglement will be used to create mult-channel sampling and synthesis.

Opsix perfect partner for Roland Fantom EX

Since Korg is obviously not interested in a successor to the OASYS/Kronos line, the Fantom EX would be the answer, except it doesn’t have FM. So the Opsix fills that gap.

If you consider that the Kronos is actually Oasys Mark II and the Nautilus is Oasys Mark III, it helps with perspective. The Oasys came out 20 years ago, and as far as UI goes it was pretty decent for the time. Lots of power with a much bigger screen than most had, though the screen size keeps ...

But most off all I think what a lot of us long time users are not mentioning here is that the Kronos has become a boring Keyboard. A decade plus of the same sounds and features becomes very stagnant over time. Those updates really do give these workstations new life. Adding in more features and ...

I don't know anything about the capabilities of the Raspberry Pi. Is it equal to or better performance than an Intel Atom? I know they're using it for their smaller synths. What I don't know is if it would gracefully bear the load of a flagship like the Kronos. The original Kronos runs on a Dual ...

As we're speculating and having a little bit of fun, let's all imagine a new Korg workstation that runs on a Raspberry Pi instead of an Intel chipset and custom boards, etc. How much can Korg R&D squeeze out of a $40 Raspberry Pi? There's even a 7" Raspberry Pi color touchscreen. Probably the ...

Re: Flagship upgrades

When you say "both boards," do you mean the Nautilus and Nautilus AT, or the Nautilus and Kronos? . The Nautilus AT and the Kronos. The Nautilus, Nautilus AT, and Kronos will all respond to poly aftertouch. . I am talking about the capabilities of the physical keyboards with the Kronos and Nautilus ...
