would you mind elaborating on this? i'm interested in getting an ES2 and using own single cycle waveforms. is it easy to get them up and running? what do you mean by "set the loop points"? to my understanding with a single cycle waveform there is no need for a loop/sustain region. thanks in advance ...

Someone else will have to try this, but after slicing and saving the sample, select the "main" sample (not one of the 001, 002, etc versions), and go into "keyboard" mode. I'm not sure if this will transpose the sample, or allow you to play different keys/pads to trigger slices. I don't have the ES2 ...

You've discovered the single most frustrating thing about the ES2. Here's the short version of how it works: The memory in the ES2 is volatile. However, if you export your samples to a card, AND, if the card is inserted when powered on, it will read/import that bank from the card when booting. So ...

Can you re-sequence and/or hand play and record those slices out of order with-in the single part though? Most modern samplers like the op1 and octatrack can do this. Yes. You can assign an individual slice to any pad. In trigger mode, you can then play the slices as you would any drum sound. This ...

Well, I'd say some sort of software for this is inevitable. That USB connection can't only be relegated to MIDI over USB. The ESX is a great machine, but you're buying a used machine, and they're often used heavily. I've owned, at one point or another, everything in the Electribe lineup. I can say ...

So, Disconnector, you got it...decided to return it...then changed your mind it seems. What made you decide this? Is it as fun as the e2? Ha, well, I feel like I've used it enough to not return it, but it is for sale (it's on eBay, and no, I will not take $300 for it, so stop asking). I tried one ...

Well, that didn't take long. You definitely CANNOT sample while any part of the sequencer is running. Thus, if you wanted to sample an external synth that's sequenced by the ES1... nope. You also cannot slave the clock of the ES2 to trigger the start of the sampling to another sequencing device. You ...

Yeah, you can't do sampling while the sequencer is running, AND, it's somewhat difficult to grab a "loop" of audio that's a specific length. It's up to you when you start and stop the recording. I am going to run some tests today to try this, though - to get a loop that's generated from an external ...

RE: Exporting for Live The only way I tried it was to export the project to the card, then read the card on the computer. All in all, that part was astonishingly fast. RE: Stereo samples, FX When editing a part that has a stereo sample, yes, all the controls are ganged together. You don't edit one ...

Disconnector, thanks for the info! I have two questions 1. When you use stereo sample is the IFX delay on that stereo track stereo too ? 2. How much longer it takes to boot with custom samples ? the E2 boots in 4 seconds. 1. No idea. My assumption is that it would be monaural. Stereo samples take ...

Also discovered (this is probably shown in the video) - in my above example, the original loop, after slicing, is still located at slot 999. Hitting the pad repeatedly will step through all of the slices. So, you can assign that sliced sample to a single pad, use the sequencer function, and light up ...
