Above argument aside, what was incredibly frustrating for me was that the E2 was so damn close to being the solution I wanted for beats. It gets attention about once a week, the rest of my practice goes to piano and synth bass. Simplicity is part of my equation. What has hindered E2 for me has been ...

There is a sonic world within in the oscillator edit knob, the filter types, and, at least for drum hits, in the subtlety of the decay knob. Allusions to new sounds in any marketing material likely refer to this. They have two mic positions on some of the acoustic samples (jazz kick for instance ...

Step sequencer isn't circular. It is very tedious getting to the velocity screen. 11 minutes of basic coding for a junior EE; 8 minutes of that is checking in and out the files. BPM LFO's should be musical values. They're already doing the computations, but they're mapping it to a continuous scale ...

I strongly encourage everybody to stick with the petition, especially after the work done by Cade. The colors are an attempt at revival - they'll kill the grey one in a month or two and try to convince everybody there is a new release. It is a step, and I appreciate Korg for doing it, but the ...

The awesome things are awesome. But there is weird clunkiness. If you're gonna be playing along with it, keep in mind there is no song mode so one member will need to do live arrangements. This is a major issue for me as I'm doing something qualitatively similar to your description with just myself.

Thanks again for the organizing effort. Two cents - it is my opinion that the step sequencer block should be in issues and problems, not recommended improvements. Since that is a consolidation of lines, it represents many votes. If I had my druthers, BPM LFO would still be in recommended ...

Cade - thank you for your work. I suggest consolidating all of the step sequencer votes in the "recommended improvements" to the top of the list (issues and problems.) Step sequencer and step record aren't the same thing, but if one of them didn't suck the other might not be needed. Make the step ...

I think we largely agree. Like I said, I tried to be level-handed. Thank you for your effort with the petition.

In addition to the petition

I posted what I believe to be a level-handed review on Sweetwater last week. The box does a lot of things very well, and has a few things that make it weirdly clunky. I gave it 3.5 out of 5. I would encourage others to do something similar with your online retailer. This will get the sales people ...

I followed the link - not up yet? So we accumulate feedback here? My $0.02: 1) Improve the step sequencer. Possible solutions: a) using the track pad to enter gate and velocity while holding a pad or just allowing both dimensions of the touch scale to be assignable. b) 3 steps - ghost / on / accent ...

Using E2 as an FX box

I decided to run a stereo pair out of my Nord Stage into the E2. On the particular track turn all the notes on and set them to "tie." Oscillator to 409. LFO filter awesomeness + sample and hold FX. You can really hear the flavor of the different filters with a (faux) Wurlitzer or CP80 as input. I ...

Agree with OP. The lacking song mode is really a sore spot for me, as well. I guess you can try to chain patterns, but then you're in the wonderful "pattern by knob" bit. My work around was to only work within a pattern, and turn parts on and off. But if you've got a bass lick that needs a new kick ...

Little software tweaks that would make a big difference

At the cajoling of some other forum members, I've decided that I need to get on with the music making with E2. You can't beat the price point, the battery power, and the competent and immediate synthesis power. I did this crazy thing called practicing (live with pads and velocity on) and I'm fairly ...
