I am no that familar with 01/w PSU, but I suggest you to try a substitute for a working one PSU. All voltages can be found at ATX PSU, for example. It sounds like faulty transistor in PSU, or modded PSU, so cuted traces were make sense. I hope you didn't burned opamps. Thought I am big fan of AI2 ...

I took schematics from korg x3 yahoo group, and just made pcb.

BTW Have you tried PCM cards on your X3?

I've been tortured by old disk drive problem too. My solution was to use regular FDD drive. I de-soldered 24-pin connector from old drive (that connects ribbon), and made a connector board.
