It happens when Audio In is engaged, including sampling. Some people can't here it but if 13k is in your hearing range you can't unhear it.

Mine is #3098. I opened an issue with Korg and they told be to bring it in for service which I know wont be of much use. Shame the only viable alternative is 4x the price (Octatrack) but that's what I am looking at now.

Do you have the usb cable plugged in? This can introduce a high pitched noise (usb grounding issue) I fixed this problem by covering one of the usb pins with tape. No. It's a very high-pitched "mosquito noise" that may be above most people's audible range. Sort of like what old CRT monitors emitted. It's very obvious and ear piercing with the volume up.
