Hi. It certainly needs to be someone who has a bit of knowledge about these things. An IT pro or experienced hobbyist should be ok to do the job. USB

Hi Joe If you power on the D888 with the USB cable already connected, it should automatically go into USB mode and it should should up as a new drive on your PC. If you connect the USB cable whilst the D888 is already on, you will need to press the USB mode button ..it should then show up on your PC ...

d888 hard drive

Hi It sounds like the system wont recognise the drive so you may have to go down the new hard drive route - you could try removing the drive and deleting the partition with it connected to your PC so that it appears to be a new drive but this may be a waste of time as you were getting errors before ...
