KingKORG vs. Prologue

David, I have the Kingkorg. The action is a fast synth action. You can get fast repeat notes on it. I think it works well enough. It doesn't seem to be the highest quality synth action I've ever played, the standard bearer for that to me being the DX action. My only complaint about the action would ...

Poly/Mono

Z5, You can easily change this by editing the program. I think you push Shft+Program and then scroll through the pages until you find Mono1, Mono2 and Poly. You will have to save the new program in a user slot. Check page 4 of the Parameter Guide for editing and page 21 of the Owner's Manual for ...

King Korg organs?

Oli, Like all the PCM sounds on the King Korg, the organs are useful. The Leslie sim could be better. You can't really edit them to any great extent, so you get something like "2nd Perc" and "3rd Perc" and I think there's a Ballad Organ and some others. The tube can warm them up a bit. The action ...

What Expression Pedal Do You Use?

Mike,

I can't tell from Sweetwater or even Behringer's site. Does that pedal use a battery?

Regards,
Joe

What Expression Pedal Do You Use?

What are you folks using for an expression pedal? All the pedals I've tried are pretty awful with the King Korg. I've gone through the calibration exercise in each case: Roland EV-5 Korg EXP-2 ($85!!!) Yamaha FC-7 They either jump from a low value to a max value, or a majority of the travel results ...

Making a lead sound

Well I'm happy to report that my sound is coming along albeit slowly. I don't think I'll be able to get the level of distortion that Derek is getting but then he also runs his Nord through guitar distortion pedals and I'm not. Got the monophonic problem solved. I just need to keep fooling around ...

Re: King korg keybed

I don't like it for piano, but I think the action is good for synth and organ. It's a light, fast action and you can get really fast repeat notes on it if you want to. It's okay for pads too.

Love King Korg!

Good luck.

Joe
