Quick update! So I found a music store in NYC that fixes Korg products. They were luckily able to replace the mic jack, so the KP3 is good as new and can be used as intended. My set up right now is having the sound from my MPC Live run directly into the KP3, no mixer. I have to use a 1/4 inch to RCA ...

Thanks Elwyn!! Super helpful. But just wanted to double check. Can I build the beat in my MPC, send it to the mixer, and then from there, send it to the KP3 where I can manipulate the beat...AND, At the same time, have a mic plugged into the mixer, sing into it, then send my voice to the KP3 as well ...

p.s.
I found this list of dealers in NYC which sells Korg products including B&H and Guitar Center. So I'm assuming they could maybe fix the mic input?

Gotchya! Hmm I haven't thought about trying to repair the mic input on the KP3. Basically, the entire piece of plastic of the KP3 that the mic jack slides into needs to be replaced. (The KP3 fell to the ground, mic was plugged in, landed mic jack first. The mic jack broke, and the tip of the mic ...

MiniKP2S to Compliment KP3? Mixer Recommended?
So long story short, the mic input for my KP3+ doesn't work anymore. But everything else works fine. Do you think I should get a Kaoss Pad Mini 2s to connect to the KP3, in order to be able to use a mic again? My main goal is to be able to manipulate my voice in the KP3. So I figure if I have the ...

KP3+ vs Quad Pad for my MPC Live?
So I have an MPC Live and I've gotten pretty good at making hip hop beats up on the fly with it. I can make a 16 bar loop in about 30 seconds that sounds pretty groovy. The MPC Live does have a dedicated XY grid for mangling the sound, similar to a kaoss pad, but it's fairly limited. I'm looking for ...

Ah thanks again Spheric! Haha, so a complete turn of events. Went to Guitar Center, explained to pro audio guy (who's a professional music composer, beat maker, etc.) what my goals are. So, he actually got me to return my KO-PRO+, and instead get the MPC Live. It's pricey, but it's a beast. I can ...

I can't thank you enough Spheric El. Thank you for taking the time to talk this out with me. I think what I'll do is just stick with the KO-Pro+ for now. Just because I have it and have already started learning how to use it. Honestly, I was starting to lose my excitement because lots of reviews ...

Thanks so much again Spheric El! So it seems like you're saying I should return my KO Pro+, and instead get a kaossilator 2. Get proficient on that KO2, and add in the KP3. KO2 + KP3 > than the KO Pro+ and KP3. Then if I want, throw in the kp mini 2 after I get proficient with the KO2 + KP3 combo ...

p.s. Spheric, when you say KP mini, are you referring to this? http://www.korg.com/us/products/dj/mini_kaoss_pad2/ So my rig would consist of the KO PRO+...get good at that. Then add the KP3...get good at that...and then add on the KP2 mini? I saw someone on youtube who has a KO PRO+, KP3, and Pad ...
