Just press Menu -> Pad Switches -> Switch

Just choose whatever a happy user happily ever might want.

So I did the restore to the happy factory settings, and then after that the Songbook is working, not one problem with the Polka Pop.

So maybe the whole problem turns out just fine for the next 10 years!
