May I add to Gwendal's comment this : When we have a Kronos and a DAW we have finally many Kronos at hands and not, anymore, just one Kronos. Combis can be melted and so on ! And that is another big advantage of a DAW with Kronos Yep...so you don't want a workstation but just a sounds library. You ...

Did you buy it? Congrats? The best pianos in Montage use multiple parts - up to 4. You can drive 12 more parts with the recorder but the question is do those parts sound good enough? When you play Montage, you aren't browsing parts. A part is very capable on it's own, there are 8 AWM elements or 1 ...

There is 1 more important factor- does the keyboard inspire you ? And you won't know that until you sit down and spend 20 minutes with either the Montage or the K2. That's an awesome question and it should have been one of my requirements that I listed, but I guess both the Kronos and Montage have ...

Hey Greg, This was not an easy decision for me and I sincerely appreciate everyone's input, advise, information in helping me make this decision. When I started researching the latest Workstations/Synths over 2 months ago, this is one of the first videos I saw, which talked about several of the ...

HI vertig0spin After 5 pages of advice & reviews, have you come to a DECISION , or has it left you more confused ? will Santa surprise you this Christmas ? Yes, I have finally decided. All the discussion brought clarity, not confusion, so thanks to everyone that provided input and information! No ...

I get tired of people commenting on which keyboard is better. They’re both outstanding you can’t go wrong with neither. And both have FLAWS that you will discover after you buy it. It's actually good to discuss and know what the limitation are so that you are aware, and sometimes people find(or fin ...

GregC wrote: How many independent midi channels and independent midi instruments does Montage send over to a sequencer like Cubase, etc, ?
I've read several people's posts that the Montage sends 16 independent over to the DAW

But you are aware of the limits of two hands playing, while you trigger the looper with one foot, the piano sustain pedal with the other, and open cutoff on your VA synth via your expression pedal with the third foot, not dropping the blues harp in your teeth in the meantime? On the Kronos? No, I ...

If a store that carries both is so far away, have you considered trying to find an individual owner closer to you that would let you try it out locally? Works for either board, may lead to the start of a new friendship! No, but I will look into that. I don't know where to start really. Halifax ...

I can summarize it. The polyphony on the K2 is limitation, sort of a speed limit. Some of the K2 engines are resource hungry. Using 4 of them at once plus heavy FX in the SEQ, for a multi track song, with orchestration will expose the polyphony problem. I don't believe polyphony limits on the K2 ...

Well then. "one of the main requirements as having a keyboard that feels and sounds as much like a real acoustic grand as possible, " Looks like you should visit a store that has the K2 88 and Montage 88 so you can make a valid AP comparison. No, I decided to base my whole decision on which ...

I had the chance of both the montage 8 and kronos 2 88 at my nearest dealer here in the UK. I found working with the kronos in terms of physical interaction much better than the montage. The Montage does not have a cohesive feel or method of data input or program / combi access and is difficult to ...

Few more points. Furthermore, Yamaha launched the successfully priced MODX as an alternative. There are business reasons for Yamaha to introduce such an alternative so quickly . One of which Montage sales were simply not that strong. As a careful gear person, MODX is a no brainer purchase vs ...

Hello, My wife is from Ipswich. There are only two current 88 key models. The Kronos 2 88 (fully weighted keyboard) and the Kronos LS 88 (unweighted synth style keyboard). Both are identical except for keybed and color. Both are much more powerful workstations than the Montage. Beautiful town! What ...

1 other that I'd consider because one of them is a lighter weighted keybed and that is not what I want at all . . WOW That is a Weird comment ! its only the older synths that are heavy, the new ones are all alot lighter now. I meant to say "that I'd 'Not' consider because it has a lighter weighted ...
