I think someone is being is smartass and it's just too annoying too continue... That probably why Scott doesn't care and wants to move on. You're both right... from Wiki (bold is from me) The sone was proposed as a unit of perceived loudness by Stanley Smith Stevens in 1936. In acoustics, loudness ...

Holy crap, just took a few days off from the forums and wham, this topic gets 5 more pages ! I was looking for keybeds that feature multiple optical sensors, and apart form the VAX77, I found only 1 company who makes them. http://www.midi9.com/products.htm It's some kind of midi recording strip that ...

I've put up a few posts on this earlier in the thread. The Kurzweil MidiBoard had something like that. It used impact sensors instead of velocity. But we don't really need impact sensors (they sound expensive and maybe a little unreliable over time), as I've mentionned earlier we only need more than ...

@peter_schwartz You quote me a lot... we both know it's quite easy to take one sentence out of context and attack it with arguments, thus butchering the original ideas. I just hope any further comments will take into consideration the whole of the text, with its nuances and goals. BTW, just looked ...

@peter_schwartz I just looked up academic, I'm natively french speaking - so it is possibe that I don't grasp the concept the same way Uncle Sam does... So I googled it and "hypothetical or theoretical and not expected to produce an immediate or practical result". So I figured my statement about ...

Well, sorry for being a geek, for we are quintessentially academic, but this is exactly what progress is about and how new ideas are born... I don't think a reasonable person expects an electronic keyboard -- weighted or not -- to feel like a real grand A few years back, I don't think any reasonable ...

There's a lot of talk around here about problems with MIDI range and how this translates to "limited dynamic range" on the keyboard. I don't think the problem is with the current MIDI resolution, but rather on how this range is used to quantise a player's playing... If I understand correctly ...

Starting to feel like a monologe here...

I'm quite the stubborn fellow. I know there has to be someone, somewhere who has access to some sort of SysEx chart. I can't possibly imagine that Stephen Kay programmed Karma Oasys without having somekind of chart as a reference guide.

Anyone ?

bump bump...

I don't really care if its a .txt file in über-ugly Courrier New.

Anything is better than nothing, I'm assuming that the tech guys who programmed the O probably dumped all the SysEx (bad pun) specs in some sort of reference file.

SysEx stuff...

In the parameter guide its written that a complete midi implementation chart (including SysEx information) can be obtained if we contact our national Korg distributor. So I called my Canadian supplier and he replied to that it doesn't exist : " I think what happened is that KORG had planned to ...

Edit Factory Multisamples

Is there any way to see/edit the inner workings of the factory multisamples ? I was wondering because in the wave-sequence step parameter page there is a column for adjusting the start offset of the multisample. It says each wave in a multisample can have up to 8 different starting positions... Is ...

I uploaded some charts in another topic http://www.korgforums.com/support/oasys/graphs.zip With these you'll be able to translate the relative values used in EG programming to absolute values... that way you might get a better understanding of how these EGs work. I'm surprised to hear you say that ...

Thanks Dan ! I do realize that the best way to do FM is to use, well, an FM synth engine :o What's interesting is the fact that these simple LFOs can become very exotic/chaotic tools to create new sounds. Instead of have a classic vibrato assigned to the Y+ axis of the pitch bend joystick, you could ...
