The architecture was open for Korg to add new elements to the system over time, which they did. It was not open for third parties to add to. This seems to be a common misconception about the OASYS. Perhaps Korg could have used different language to describe it to avoid the confusion.

I'm happy with the interface. I have taken the time to learn how it's structured and how to use it. I can fly through some of the engines now, particularly HD1. You don't get all that power without complexity. That said, it would be nice if the Nautilus reskin was made available to Kronos owners. It ...

A full pipes organ is a piece of cake by re-sampling a decent VST , but Pipe Organ fanatics & players need all Stoppers variations of Upper , Lower and Pedal Swell and full real time control via sliders & controllers like Hammond engine , so a real Pipe Organ needs sophisticated sound developing in ...

FullPipes - Free Pipe Organ Program

As a huge Pipe Organ fanatic, I've always found workstation imitations of them somewhat disappointing. Some of the EXS collections for the Kronos offer better Pipe Organ sounds, but I thought I'd have a go at something myself. This is a combination of internal ROM samples, a sample from the EXS19 ...

Without wishing to sound condescending, I don't understand how anyone can get bored of an instrument with the depth and complexity of the Kronos. If someone had said in the mid 90's that we would one day have at our disposal an instrument that could do 9 forms of synthesis, with several GB's of wave ...

The Kronos is a massively powerful instrument and this has not yet been matched on the market. The Fantom hasn't moved the game on in this regard. What it has done is demonstrate a more modern, slick and usable user interface. It's true that the Kronos has a learning curve and once this has been ...

Heavenly Analog Synth Pad

Hi all, I was making a first attempt at programming in AL-1 last night and came up with this. It's something approximating the character of the famous "Soundtrack" patch on the Roland D-50. I ended up adding a PolySix layer to add more richness to the sustain. Thought I'd share. The PCG file ...
