I am wondering though if 'phraser' is the right time, perhaps its more of a flanger effect that I'm seeking? Sorry not always spot on with the terminology!

How one might use the Monologue to create a 'phaser' like effect?

I connected the Monologue first before opening sound library and the device was installed by windows if thats what you mean? It was all working fine last week its only after doing this update to Windows 10 it seems to have problems.

Recently I've updated to Windows 10, now for some reason sound librarian is just saying 'Monologue not connected' even though it is? Tried reinstalling sound librarian but no joy, any ideas?

OK think I've got it, I will get this stuff and let you know how to get on. Thanks again for all your comments!

So the end point is the 3.5 jack into the base input, the bit in the middle between where you would put an XLR into the zoom?

Also, don't really understand how the latter is gonna fit into the Zoom inputs?
