quesitons about krome power cable & plug
I'd like to make a DC power splitter adapter so I can power some LED illumination (only a few watts, and also 12v) and the Krome 88 with the Krome wall wart. I'd need a male and female plug/socket to make the adapter, but don't know what the specs of the plug/socket are. Are they some standard ...

Here's how I fixed it
Well, no one helped me out, so I'm posting my own reply to help others who might need to replace some of the rubber contact strips to fix Krome velocity problems. Replacing the rubber strips that corresponded to the offending notes solved the velocity problem 100%, but there's some lessons learned ...

Krome 88 rubber strip replacement?
I have 3 notes with defective velocity sensing on my Krome 88 (all C#'s and F#'s, but none in the same octave) so I bought 4 replacement rubber contact strips. Can anyone give detailed instructions for disassembly and strip replacement? By removing all the screws from the bottom and disconnecting a ...

+1 to Sander. The section of the manual you're looking for will be addressed as an alternate modulation source or AMS . Basically, some parameters have the option of being controlled by a variety of thing that might provide the necessary variable range needed. In addition to the "expression pedal ...

Krome outputs as unbalanced
Maybe it was a typo, but the review said that the 1/4" outputs were balanced. The spec says they are unbalanced. Apparently the back panel of the Krome is grounded to the wall outlet through the "flimsy" power connector. This might seem improbable, but you will notice that the AC side of the power ...

Controlling OSC2 level on programs
How do I set up or edit a Program so that I can modify the volume (LEVEL) of OSC1 or OSC2 using the User 1, 2, 3 or 4 real time controls? It seems rather odd to me that it's easy to use the knobs to vary arcane things like modulations, but nothing built in that allows me to change the volume of the ...

FAT16 (same as "FAT") no good on 1G xD cards
I did format it as FAT rather than FAT32, but the 1G card still wouldn't work. The problem is NOT with the Smertmedia to xD converter, as that combo worked in my laptop, which has both Smartmedia and xD interfaces. There is a chance that it didn't work because the read speeds are too slow. Type "M ...

1G xD did NOT work
Well, I picked up a Smartmedia/xD converter, Frys happens to be selling for $8. A 1G xD card did NOT work in the keyboard, but it was visible as a 1G drive on my laptop Smartmedia slot when I inserted it first into the adaptor, and then the adaptor into the Smartmedia slot of the laptop. I get ...

512M or even 1G will work?
Just to be clear, do you know for sure that capacities larger than 128M will actually work, but only 128M will be recognized?
You can buy 512M xD really cheap, and I wouldn't have to pay $10 shipping for a 1 oz. package!

JV80 could do
Roland JV80 is long discontinued and did not have that problem. Already-played notes would switch to the effects of the new patch or combi, but continue playing until released. I also really loved having realtime sliders that controlled the volume of the patches within a combi, or other parameters ...

Great tip, is TR the same as LE?
That's a great tip & I will use it. Do you know if they fixed sound cutoff on the TR series? I was thinking of putting my old unit on Ebay and getting a TR76.

Sound cutoff
Is there any way around the complete sound cutoff that occurs when switching combis or programs. It really makes live performance on the LE 76 difficult!

Smartmedia only on LE?
Smartmedia cards are nearly obsolete and small in capacity. $50 for 128M byte. Is there any alternative on the LE 76? In particular do xD to SM converters work. With 256M xD? I've filled my RAM slots with 64M of EDO, but I'm afraid a single Smartmedia card won't be big enough to load the RAM with ...
