On the Radias, [EDIT/YES], [GLOBAL], [VOICE/UNISON] Make sure Routing is set to USB. This disconnects the Radias itself from sending MIDI signals out the MIDI plugs but keeps the USB to MIDI plug connection alive. In your DAW make sure you do not have any routings that include the RADIAS KBD/KNOB ...

The problem (at least that I experienced on the MS2000 and MicroKorg) is that you can't specify which timbre you are targeting with CCs, so they just override parameters on both. Might be possible with NRPN though. Page 65 of the manual describes how to change the MIDI Channel of the second Timbre ...

Also remember that when using the Decimator, 8 bit games had 4 bit sound. Dialing it down to 4 bit will help you get closer.

Thanks zalo for that catch. When I didn't see the see the BPMSync as an available parameter for CC, I didn't realize that the LFO1 Freq was being used for dual purposes. Yeah, it would be easier to directly set it that way. No problem, and if you have a computer in your live set up you can do this ...

Just purchase a midi controller with momentary buttons that you can assign CC# and values to. This is all you need to know from that MIDI sheet. When BPM Sync is "ON". 00~07 : 8/1 26~2C : 1/2 4B~52 : 1/6 71~77 : 1/32 08~0E : 4/1 2D~34 : 3/8 53~59 : 1/8 78~7F : 1/64 0F~16 : 2/1 35~3B : 1/3 5A~61 : 1 ...

The BCR2000 also has an editor to quickly assign all the knobs.

Live picks up things when its already open, you shouldn't need to restart live to add controllers/devices.

On an analog synth each voice doesn't change much if any note to note. All you need to do is change each timbre to be slightly different, set them all to mono last and use something to cycle the midi channels with each note.

Mopho Keyboard. Great learning synth and you will hold onto it for a long time. The simplicity of it makes it perfect. Once you have your head around the MophoKey you will have enough money saved up to buy a Radias. I have a DSI P08 and a Radias. It is not a bad combo, they blend well but definitely ...

You could set each timbre to a separate midi channel. Then use something like Max/MSP to step through the channels with each new note. That shouldn't be very hard to do.

I don't use logic so I don't know specifics, but there should be a way to route the keyboard to the soundcard's midi out in a logic track.

Also remember that most of the time the sounds are monophonic. A big part of the sound of chiptune/bit music is this fact. Instead of regular chords, they have to fake polyphony by using very fast arpeggiators.

Some more variety would be great for the track. Possibly a second different lead sound for some call and response style phrases. The percussion is perfect, but the backing synth parts get a little tiresome. For your first attempt outside of your comfort zone, you did pretty well. I always have a ...
