Thanks... I fixed it! There were some huge dust bunnies in there. I think the culprit was actually a dead, dried up old beetle. Or it could've just been a software thing because I ran the external test on the velocity sensors and that key still failed after the cleaning registering a velocity of 115 ...

Couple of notes. In the software, "Transmitting" a patch to the RK100S does nothing permanent. It just loads the patch selected in the software into the RK100S's temporary memory. Meanwhile you have to "Write" the patch to save it. It's really cool that you can download libraries of Microkorg XL and ...

Makes sense. Beer = likely culprit :P

I will take it apart and try cleaning. I found an X3 service manual, which should be a lot closer.

Love these keyboards, glad I picked up an extra one too.

I wonder how its sounds compare to the M1?

Korg X2 velocity sensor repair question

My 20-year-old Korg X2 has finally developed a problem after working flawlessly through countless gigs. One of the keys seems to have a broken velocity sensor, possibly as a result of physical impact or crushing of the key during one of countless gigs and hauling the keyboard around packed in a car ...

Second Impressions

No judgement is really possible without using it in a live gig, so I took it to a show last night, and the RK100S was awesome. Below are my revised ratings and new impressions! Sound: 8/10 My first impressions may seem rather harsh now that I have used it with a live band. We did some hip hop funk ...

RK100S First Impressions Review

So I got my RK-100S yesterday and here is my "first impressions" review. Build and shape: 9/10 The design feels very solid. Not too heavy, not too light. Buttons feel nice and clicky, and light up when pressed, for a very cool effect. Keys feel really nice. Over-all it just feels like a very high ...

Sadly there does not seem to be a way to do this with the long ribbon controller, just with the short ribbon controller. Correct me if I'm wrong…!

Yea I am still using a Korg X2 and I control the MS-20 plug in over my laptop from a wireless MIDI keyboard controller (Alesis Photon X25 with M-Audio MidAir Wireless MIDI setup). Now, I would like a way to eliminate my laptop from out of the setup. Can I control the MS-20 patch of the Kronos over ...

Thanks Dave. Well I found I actually had a copy of Unisyn 2.1. I had bought it apparently when I bought Performer awhile back and just misplaced it. I tried it, and it works fine with the Wavestation SR. I'll give Sound Quest a whirl though and see if it's any better. I did find the Unisyn interface ...

I've discovered that MOTU Unisyn supposedly would work for this. Does anyone know if this would be the best bet? Thanks.

Wavestation SR with X2 and Computer Editor for Intel Mac?

Hi- I just picked up a Korg Wavestation SR for use with my Korg X2. Can I use the X2's joystick as a controller for the joystick function of the SR? If not then what does anyone suggest in terms of an external joystick of some kind? Also, I am looking for an external patch editor that would run on ...
