Problem solved! Thanks a million. The Purgatory CP70 is running on my Kronos now, it sounds great!

Re: 5

That is supposed to be there. These are samples, not pcg. There are many threads on here on how to load samples. Ok, thanks. There is a tutorial on the Purgatory website but it doesn't apply to samples. Like I said, I bought my Kronos 5 years ago and I've used the sampler but only for my own wavs ...

Loading Purgatory sounds..?

Hi! I'm having some trouble loading sounds from Purgatory Creek. When I unzip the file I download from Korg.com it doesn't contain any .PCG or .KSC data, but instead three files called .exsins, .tar.gz and S143. I'm a longtime Kronos owner, but haven't bought any libraries until now. Does anybody ...

Ouch. This is very bad news. I'm doing a production next year and I'm definately going to buy a good string library. I was about to ask if any of you have experience in the string expansion libraries, but since the show is in another town the whole plan was to get another Kronos and have an A rig at ...

Problem solved - I switched back to the internal sound card, changed that to 48000 instead of 44100 and then back to the Kronos - strange solution, but it worked!

I installed the latest OS yesterday, and now I have the MainStage pitch problem. I've tried everything I can think of; the sample rates match and everything seems correct but the pitch is off. Only through the Kronos, the internal sound card and my Apollo both sound fine. Does anyone have any clues?!

One small but ENORMOUSLY important new feature; "In Live mode, Combination Mute buttons stop the MIDI input to the Timbre; this saves polyphony, and is well-suited to muting and un-muting layered sounds as you play." This makes handling zones 200% easier. No audio cutoff, no muted patches stealing ...

Thanks, AFAIK it can't right now - but for instance NI FM8 can load both, so it can't be all that complicated. I think the DX7II presets are very nice, you can tell that the DX programmers knew more about the synth. Perhaps I can export them from FM8...

I'd love to load my DX7II sounds. Is there any way to convert them to a format the Kronos can read, or is it possible that there will be a Kronos OS update that makes this possible?

The Kurzweil system of adding 'layers' (parts) is the best I've tried - if you need a sound, just add a zone. Each zone is instantly playable from the internal keyboard and you don't need to worry about triggering stuff accidentaly. There are quite a few quirks in that system, but the basic idea is ...

Yup, that's a Motif piano. He runs both of his synths thru a stereo tube pre, not sure which one, and it really helps the sound. Geir is a FANTASTIC singer, he has actually performed with Toto... Really, really good. And a great guy! That's quite a combination these days... 8)

Kronos live clip

Hi! I just thought there might be some interest for a Kronos in action... The Kronos does synth brass, fm bells in the 2nd verse and the entire solo, which is played from a Kurzweil PC361 toggling zones on and off. The PC3 also triggers 2 riffs (playing Kronos sounds); the bells in the solo and the ...

Thank you so much! Very helpful advise. I've had my Kronos a week and a half now, and the more I work with it, the bigger the smile on my face gets. It's truly an amazing synth, incredibly versatile and great sounding. Thanks for going all in and making such a powerful instrument, the Kronos has ...

Hmm... That makes sense, but is still a bit troublesome... I have 4x32 patches from a DX7II, they worked like a charm in my FS1r and my Nord G2. Do you know if there is any way to 'clean up' a sysex file?
