Have you checked out http://www.linux-sound.org/hardware.html ?
Yes, I came across that site too. I think I got a better overview already what works better and what not. The RME stuff though is still a bit pricey for my needs.

I guess it needs more specific drivers, to support the proper FW comunication...
I thought so too, but there seem to be some quite well supported interfaces that hopefully work.

Anyway, thanks for the comments.

Yes, I checked out pretty much all the major manufacturers, but you always find reports about one thing or the other not working properly. I figured there might be at least one specific card that works as it is supposed to. I guess I just have to try out a few and see what works best. Maybe even go ...

Recording soundcard for Linux?

Hey guys,

does anyone have a recommendation for a PCI soundcard with 4-6 ins/outs, 24Bit/96kHz, that runs on Linux without any problems? I find it very hard to find something that is not reported to have any flaws or problems.

Thanks.

Mine did that too, during the short time I tested it. Seems to be a design issue. But I don't expect a 500€ synth to be built like a tank anyway... But you don't expect a brand new synth to be 'BROKEN' either. You said yourself, it doesn't affect the function. I wonder however why they c ...

Why?

That's only if you want to record it as well, right? Realtime manipulation works without that too.

You need to activate one of the Keyboard Parts and assign a sample to it as well before that works. Also make sure the keyboard is not set to a low octave so the sample is pitched way down.

You need to go into Sample mode and enable the Audio In part (not Audio Thru) if you want to manipulate realtime. Then Filters and FX should work. I have to figure it out each time myself.

Yes, sounds like frequencies clashing at the attack of those sounds. Try if filtering or EQing one or both of them helps, or even shifting one a little later or earlier.
