It starts from bar 1, what you describe there it something akin to legato mode on ableton, it would be fantastic if this option was implemented, but it's not unfortunately.

To begin with you want to load up any bank which isn't the ROM bank, this should give you a clean slate. Next I think you are pressing the record button rather than the sampling button. The record button is for the pattern sequencer, the sampling button is for recording your own sounds. I hate to be ...

Set the decay and release times for your samples to 127, these are the default settings applied for one shot recording, the sample will play out to the end then stop. If you want them to loop over the best thing to do is sequence them as bobby suggests, then if your midi pedal can send CC#, you can ...

You can just send CC# messages to accomplish all of the NRPN functions such as record and pattern change. All can be done with the FCB1010. Look at the table on page 46 of the microsampler manual under 'About MIDI messages' point 5. NRPN messages First send over CC#99 with a value of 32 (this only ...

Regarding the automatic looping, has anyone tried this: Set the pattern sequencer to automatically play a loop every 4 bars (or whatever you want the loop to be), but assign it to a blank sample. Then, while the pattern sequencer is playing, record your loop into that blank sample. After the 4 bars ...

There's a preset in one of the editor folders which has the same note accross all the pads with a series of ascending fixed velocities for that note. This might be useful to you if you want to tweak different velocity controlled parameters for a particular sound in battery or input a more precise ...

On the editor, you have to receive the scene set first from the padKONTROL, then make all your adjustments on screen, then send all these adjustments back to the padKONTROL. i.e it doesn't automatically update the hardware as you go along. So what's on screen may not necessarily represent what's on ...

I'd also like it if you could use velocity to control things other than just volume, like effect parameters (i'm thinking filter cutoff or overdrive) and the envelope times for example.

What do you mean by 'cant get any noise' exactly?

This is just a controller for controlling other music making devices/software, it doesn't make its own sounds.

You can reset the 'beat no. 1' on the kaoss by holding shift and pressing the tap tempo button, so you can match this to your EMX-1. Plus if you haven't already, download and install the latest firmware from the korg website. This gives you different sample playback options, and you can adjust the ...

When you installed the korg driver, did you also load up the executable box which gives you a list of all the korg hardware the driver software can see, and install your padkontrol from that list?

You have to do this every time you change USB ports as well.

a slight drawback - clearing the sample that i've just moved onto the microsampler from the rc-50 (so i can make another loop there while playing a keyboard part with both hands, for example) actually stops the MS sequencer. i'm going to see what happens if i switch the record mode on the rc-50 to ...
