Micro Korg Vocoder feedback problem

Hi I'm new here, our band owns a Micro Korg and every time we try to use the Vocoder in a gig it gives the most horrific feedback. It's a big splodge of feedback at around 2kHz. I've put filters on it but it doesn't seem to make a difference. The mic is a Shure SM58 Beta. The one that came with it ...
