The main problem with Google ads is that those will only be generating income if they're clicked. Why not? The owner of the site decides what ads can be run and what can't. I've had offers for ads too that I turned down. My site, my call.

Good to see you back online. Just out of curiousity: why do you think "having no ads" is something good (and even to be 'proud' of)? Nobody will suspect you're no longer independent if you run ads on your site. Everybody will understand that the ads are there to pay the bill...
