LED Failure Korg PA2X --- Well done Korg.

Hi All, Like many, I was unlucky enough to have a led's failure [14 No] on my PA2X Pro back in February 2010 but Korg installed 2 new boards to repair the 2 year-old keyboard free of charge. Recently, I had a further led failure with led's not working or failing to turn off so I returned the ...

Styles from SMF by Markers on PA2X.

Hi All, I have successfully created a number of song specific styles using SMF by markers with chord variations usually no longer than 4 measures and based on a single chord. I am now trying to create a style for an 8 bar sequence of G G Em Em C C D7 D7 and am experiencing difficulty. The sequence ...

Hi All, Just for completeness, thought I would advise that when adding the additional item for tempo in the master track, it is necessary to do it for all chord variations [cv1, cv2, cv3 etc], otherwise, for a given variation, playing a major chord results in a 94 bpm tempo say whilst a minor ...

Pete, Sam and Vlad, Thank you for your helpful replies. I would agree that different tempos for different variations is not something that is wanted very often. However, if you listen to the Committments version of Try a Little Tenderness you will see how it starts slowly with minimal instruments ...

Mr Vlad, Thank you for your prompt reply. Unfortunately, there is not a tempo track in Event Edit, only the Master Track with a tempo item which appears to set only the global [overall] tempo for the whole style and any changes to this tempo do not affect the individual style element tempo ...

Different Tempo for Different Variations

Hi All, I have just imported a midi file with markers for a new style for the PA2X of the Committments' version of 'Try a Little Tenderness' and cannot get the differing tempos to be recognised. Under the import procedure, the midifile tempo map appears to have been ignored except for the opening ...

Cue Mode

Hi All, I have recently been working on a style for Mustang Sally and am puzzled as to the working of cue mode on some chord changes. I have variation 1 set to 8 bars in key C for cv1 [which also allows for the subsequent F chord change] and cv2 is set to 4 bars of G7. In fact for cv2 the G7 changes ...

Giner, No problem. jg, Thank you for that. Yes, I use songbook or style play direct to call up styles. My styles in songbook are edited factory styles or styles I have made from Standard Midi Files [by markers]. Most of these songbook styles use default settings of the features you mentioned and ...

Giner, Thanks for that. Yes, certainly in some instances a G/B chord might be better and I would endeavour to play it where necessary. The problem I was having however with certain styles was that where I wanted a root position chord it was being recognized as an altered bass chord dependent on what ...

Dennis,
Thank you for that, working fine now.
I did not have to turn off the Protect Factory Style Sound button as the styles needing alteration were loaded in the Favourites bank.

Chord Recognition

Hi All, Appended below ithe content of a post that I made some time ago to which nobody seemed able to help. The styles in question are I believe from the PA1X and with the chord inversions that I tend to use do not sound good. As I am now wishing to tidy up the styles on my PA2X, deleting some as ...

Hi Pete, I checked your configuration against mine and found them very similar. The difference being that I had the continuous foot pedals set to midi channels 1 and 2 for upper 1 and 2 tracks on the PA2X with a minimum value of 0 and maximum of 127. Nonetheless the continuous pedals were still ...

Hi Pete,
Thanks.
I am using the FCB1010 software as I found that the pedal was a pig to try to set up manually.
I look forward to seeing your configuration as I wished to control Upper 1 and 2 volume also.
