Hey, I have exactly the same problem, my notes were also off by + one octave after mapping it in the nano kontrol editor!! I tried it with 2 different computers, once with pro-tools and once with Cubase 3 SX. Every time the same problem. Maybe some driver issues or a bug in the kontrol editor ...
