I think the reissues are done to extend the patent thus keeping Behringer from reissuing it. Roland is protecting their 80's intellectual property too.
Bring your own effects is interesting.

I just wondered if it was capable of producing the extra oscillator sound as described by the Styx Dennis DeYoung modification referenced here: http://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/2676595/Styx_Come_Sail_Away_solo_help_ "Dennis' MiniMoog was customized with some sort of oscillator ...

Physically altering the weighted action
I had an idea where the weighted keyboard on the M50-88 could have a parameter that physically disengages the hammer mechanism rendering the keyboard with a feather light non-weighted touch. It could be produced magnetically, or with a small lever. This way a consumer could get by with 1 keyboard ...

I must say after I saw this thing and watched all the youtube videos and factory mp3s I was having a gut wrenching laughing fit. Its so funny and serious at the same time. First look at the on off switch - from 1930, and of course the tube. The case is like my old Cordovox organ which I still have ...

Old Korg T-series Ram disk collection on 3 1/2" floppys
Old Korg T-series t1 t2 t3 Ram disk collection on 3 1/2" floppys: There used to be a set of these about 20 of them of floppy disk. I have a T-2ex and it would be cool to load some of these in to see how they sound. Can these be downloaded and burned to floppy disk? Can they be loaded via sysex like ...

Sometimes I arrange my setup to use a weighted 88 key synth so I have those advantages but also later add a very cheap $60 to $250 61 note unweighted midi controller i.e studio logic sl-161 http://prosites-allmanmusic.homestead.com/Gem4pmh.jpg You can find an even lighter action than that. I find ...

First a correction: The Alesis Fusion has been reissued in somewhat different form, yet the same engine, as the Akai Mpc 5000 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdjP0dVJ-Zg Also the more I study the M3, the more it seems it is the Oasys 2. It can load 256mb of new samples in 2 to 3 minutes from a usb ...

Sadly, There is nothing sad here. I have a Fusion and it works and I'm happy. Its not even sad the Oasys is discontinued because now you can make a new one that's "affordable" so thousands of musicians can stop being sad and get a new Oasys 2. When you talk about "price drop" just look at how you ...

I have owned an M1, T3, and currently have a T2, but more importantly I have owned an Alesis Fusion and for 3 years now. The Fusion killed the Oasys. I paid $1299 for mine new. I recently saw the Oasys being played by a 6 year old at a music store as a form of daycare and that tipped me off to it ...

I just repaired the aftertouch on my korg t2. I saw the indents on the felt so I carefully pried up the entire aftertouch strip with a small screw driver and a butter knife being careful not to bend it. After I pried it up I placed it back but about 4mm to one side. This lets the keys hit offset ...
