PS I've added a further paragraph to my previous posting, in order to expand the explanation a little futher. . I've re-read it about 5 times. I wish I had your knowledge of hardware electronics. Perhaps in another lifetime :) I thought something "similar" in terms of the switches or ribbon ...

The analogue to digital converter, used for "reading" the Kronos joystick signals, has a hight input impedance, and the joystick signal line has a simple capacitor filter circuit on the KLM-3006 PCB. This means that, every time the joystick signal goes open circuit, the capacitor effectively ...

I have this issue on my M3-88, albeit it was slightly different in behavior, with mine getting pitch bend blips when moving the joystick in the -Y axis. I also thought it was the pot in the joystick, so I bought a replacement. Put the new one in and the faulty behavior reversed so that I got pitch ...

Sounds like a dry joint or broken wire in the joystick assembly, or its connection to the main PCB. The wires coming from the pitch bend (X movement) section of the joystick are flexed by modulation (Y) movements, so are likely to become fatigued over time. If the connection becomes broken, Y ...

Potentiometer woes... Or are they?

Okay, I've got a VERY bizarre issue here and I figured I'd come here where some experts roam for some suggestions. I've had an issue with my joystick +X and -X. Sometimes, (often enough that it's not a reliable gigging board anymore) I'll experience issues where it sounds like the pitch bend decides ...

I'm a simple man with simple requests: 1 - Automatically link Combi's/Programs/Sequences/Drum Patterns/etc... as objects so you can load dependencies instead of requiring entire banks. Kurzweil has been doing this since the 1990's. I want to be able to select a Combi, and it loads EVERYTHING it ...

I love my Kurzweil and have for a very long time. Korg is a definite second but many of their design decisions are lacking for 2020.

Thanks for getting on this Greg. I hope we do see some movement in this arena.

This frequently happens with complex waveforms. Technically you can hear it with things like identical saw waveforms, but the effect is far less subtle. Some sounds like EP's might have a simpler waveform or may contain harmonic content that doesn't phase so easily. I've definitely encountered what ...

Re: Rio

Hi Would you be able to re post the Kronos arp for Duran Duran Rio again please, as the dropbox link doesn’t work anymore. Many thanks. Hi Nigel, Yeah, dropbox changed things a long time ago and killed all of my links. I did manage to save most of the sounds however and put them here: https://www.d ...

Yes i am using Audacity (and Reaper), so here it would be better to use the Kronos interface as you say. But also i am using the Kronos for PC audio files (MP3, FLAC), and here i was hoping, that using an external interface like the Steinberg UR44 could provide a superior audio quality compared to ...

If you're only interested in recording the Kronos into a DAW or in your PC, then no. An audio interface is only going to add another point in the mix. The reason I say this: The Kronos acts itself as an interface. When you record the Kronos into something like... Audacity, I've noticed that the ...
