You can drop wave files on the card, but you got to drop them in the card's root, and the sample has to be 48 khz. The best thing to do is to use the computer software called KP3 Editor, there you can preview and transfer the changed settings thru USB. Then everything should be ok. There is a lot ...

thanks for breaking it down, iv only had mine for about a week. So what format are the sample data files in and can I convert WAV files to sample data on my computer and then load them to the kp3? or does sample data just come from incoming signals that you save to the KP3 in real time?

So when I turn on my KP3 it automatically loads the .kps files, then to load the wav files I hit load>all, which changes the samples I can load. Am I doing this right? Is there a way to switch back and forth between the two types of files? What do the load>prog. and load>global functions do exactly?

Korg have decided to use only numbers as file names. So sample "120.bpm.salsa.wav" will be "01.wav" and so on.. The only file extensions you can use are .wav .aif & .kps So you have 100 .wav files, 100 .aif files and 100.kps files. But as the manual states: NOTE In the case of WAVE files or AIFF ...
