Other people including myself have had this problem before - I found that taking the R3 apart and giving all the pots a good squirt of contact cleaner did the trick - I did this procedure twice and it has been ok for about a year so far.....[touch wood] Replacing the pots is relatively ...

R3 in action...

If anyone is interested, one of my bands tracks on youtube has the R3 fulfilling synth duties :) Would be interested to hear any opinions.

Hi guys thanks for the replies. I should probably have been clearer and mentioned that this is for live performance so I do need it to be an arp rather than just a midi file. Whilst the original is a 'random' arp, these things are never truly random as there is a common seed for the 'random-ness' it ...

Duran Duran RIO arp on R3

hi all, been trying to get an approximation of the famous duran duran Rio arp going on the R3, but can't quite get it. I've got the sound itself not far off (though not quite bang on), but the arp is quite hard to replicate - originally done on a Jupiter 4 set to random arp, however the R3 random ...

I had this problem (again) over the weekend, and just before a gig aargh!! Interestingly I tried the suggestion from above about plugging a sustain pedal in and bingo the problem disappeared! I still think there is some sort of grounding problem there with the mod wheel, but possibly plugging in the ...

I have this same problem crop up intermittently and it is a hardware fault - if you clean the pots for the mod and pitch bend wheel it seems to get rid of it for a while for me. My suspicion is that it is a grounding issue between the 2 pots which occurs when the resistance in one of them becomes ...

I had very similar issues to you - knobs not giving full range, also the mod wheel affecting pitch, and dodgy right side audio output - and I'm pretty sure all the problems stem from dodgy pots and bad grounding in the R3 design. I took mine apart, sprayed all the pots, including the 4 control knobs ...

I had a similar problem a while back, but it was the pitch bend wheel that was going funny for me - same sort of thing, ie it was ok if I didn't use it after selecting a patch, but as soon as I moved the wheel it was effectively stuck on. What I found was that it was related to another problem I was ...

R3l files are whole libraries of patches - ie settings for all 128 patches. r3p files are single patches which you have to load from the editor (right click on a memory slot in an editor library window and select Open.

Well, you don't really explain exactly what you're trying to record, but I suspect you are recording the midi data whilst playing and expecting to hear back what you hear when you recorded, but that's not going to happen unless you repeat whatever input you were using (singing into mic, external ...

Hi Hugo - the vocoder is fantastic (probably one of the best bits about the R3) - my only problem is persuading the rest of my band to let me use it (they're not into ELO!!). I think from reviews I've seen that it's regarded as up with the best of them in terms of vocoding. Have you looked on ...
