I have Cubase and Ableton Live. Ableton Live is a platform that can be used live (thus it's name). Ableton is also a great tool for DJ's who need to make edits and change bpm on the fly when they are performing. I have just begun to delve into Ableton Live as an extra source for my live setup as I ...

Using the 12track would be the best option. I was trying to keep it simple so he didn't have to work with recording levels and possibly damage any semblance of headroom that the mixing engineer might need. I would agree though, an outboard interface like presonus, digidesign, mackie, etc. into a ...

Either you need to solo each track and sample it to disk or, you need to mute all tracks except for the track you want to record and record it to disk. Make sure to give each sample that you record to disk a distintive name like "kick01, snare01, hihat01, cymbal01, cymbal02, flute01, etc. Then you ...

My wife and I have had nothing but bad experiences with guitar players. Problems like: I'm the leader of the band! Can't keep time (even tried to say the sequencer was playing in time). Playing stuff that was completely different than what we practiced. Acting like they owned all the girls in the ...

Yeah, update: The JBL's sucked. We listened to the QSC's and they were definately better in all aspects except SPL. Yes, they made Mackie seem sort of muddy. The QSC's were nice. We also tried Electro Voice and the models they had (I can't remember right now) were right up there with the QSC's. Now ...

Seriously, I would send a PM to Sharp or Daz and see if they know how or know of any resources to get your answer. They are both pretty "sharp" on these type of things. Ask them to look at this post and see if they can answer on this post as well - seeing as how we are all wanting to understand now ...

really I just don't know enough about this equipment to be making good educated choices. which is where you guys come in haha. I agree on price catching up in the long run...gotta try and keep it around 350-400 though. is there something in this range that can do the job? things I should be looking ...

I would do a search on musiciansfriend, samash, zzounds, sweetwater, musiciansbuy, etc. If you want rackmount equipment, expect to pay an average of about $600-$800. For non rackmounts you can get away with an average of $300-$400. I prefer rackmount and I use the Mackie Onyx 400f - it has very nice ...
