Use program SMP.1 It should do the trick, but you cannot play any other samples in the background.

http://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_typ3.htm I just ordered that bag, but it hasn't arrived yet. Seems to do its job. I know its bit big for R3 but i have kp3 and SP-404SX to go with it. There is smaller bags too. http://www.thomann.de/gb/helpdesk_shipping.html here is chart about estimated shipping ...

Kaossilator pro cannot take in midi note on messages like "any" synth, instead midi note on/off messages are used to trigger phrase banks.

I have used R3 successfully through headphone jack with aux cable(stereoplug in the one end and rca in the other) to either input of SP-404 SX or KP3 Is there any reason I should do it through normal output jacks? With rca-rca interconnect + suitable adapters or 2 normal "guitar" cables? Cheers ...

You'll be able to trigger sequence memory banks without any other device. Unfortunately KoPro cannot handle note data otherwise. In normal mode, you'll be able to sen CC data to simulate touchpad movement. You'll need some button for sending touch control, if padcontrol hasn't that in the touchpad ...

Well it kinda.. does. you can bounce tracks with it Yea, just tested if further, when using resample, it will also record anything coming into selected input. So bouncing is good way around the missing overdub, but still it takes 25% off the sampling capacity which is lot to me, i have hard to come ...

Hi

Since KP3 doesn't support overdub, endlessly recording is not possible for all I know. Limited sample workspace is main limiting factor for me. 4 banks with 16 beats is driving me towards some real sampler, planning on SP-404SX.

why don't you just hook R3 straight to usb? There is A type mini-usb connector in the back panel, same that printers use.

Then you have to configure the editor program to use usb midi.

You can make patches to m3 by hand? You just open up the patches you have on microkorg to editor, and mimic the settings to m3 editor, then upload patches to m3 and ur done.

I have Sennheiser HD 25-1 II, they cost about 200$, but are worth every cent, have had 'em for three years now. Only complain is about the cord, but it is replaceable.

Sennheiser HD 280 Pro are also good closed cans, cheaper than HD 25-1, about 80$

To control yes, but kopro cannot understand note messages, to trigger sounds. Notes are only for muting and unmuting loopbanks. Sounds can be triggered using normal control change commands, but it is needed to trigger touch control too. You need one pad to invoke touch first, then you can use other ...

Shift + arp could make presetbuttons to become arp conf, like in R3.
That would be cool

well hey, don't let me influence you too much! i'm just saying, if you're looking for a *synth* this isn't really it. i've never played around with an R3 so i don't know too much about it, but it's bound to have far more features in terms of polyphony, velocity, programmable parameters like LFOs ...
