Thanks Sharp! I know it is strange to post here, but I've been reading this forums for almost a decade (!) And mentioned this app to you & Daz over the years. Really sad Daz is no longer around here -- he inspired me to move from Windows to Mac programming... :-) BTW, any idea how I can make the ...

Lessonator version 1.0 - Music Lesson Authoring Tool For Mac

It's been a long time coming, but I finally managed to finish this piece of Mac software: ---- http://static.squarespace.com/static/528b7152e4b0d32bd54a571e/t/52926834e4b039dd524e4e07/1385326645894/product_01_heroshot_80_percent.png Lessonator Announces Version 1.0 And FREE "Year Of Lessonator ...

The Classic doesn't have a digital out -- There is an S/PDIF extension board & the sample ate is 48KHz, same used in video editing. I assume that this is the same sample rate at which the board operates internally.

Hi Penguin! 64-bit is all about data -- it's like having a longer & wider fire hose. It doesn't speed the CPU itself. It does allow plug-ins to access more data themselves & also the mix bus to be more precise (tho, I'm not sure if the mix bus can be set above 32-bit floating points). More ...

My Triton 76 has a keybed made by Yamaha -- probably dating from the time Yamaha had a minority investment in Korg. Although Korg has been making keyboards for years, maybe this was their 1st "in-house" high-end keybed design? They couldn't go back to a third party b/c the whole product has been ...

64-bit is a big deal for ProTools -- specially for running soft-synths. Having access to larger sample memory is great.

Love ProTools! 8)

Yeah, I had tried to DM "Daz", only to be told the name had been retired. Will try the email address you mentioned.

Thanks!

Pretty depressing to learn that someone who doesn't read this forum could walk into a store, buy a 1st gen Kronos with a defective keybed & get the idea that all Korg products are junk.

Hopefully Korg doesn't make the 1st gen units anymore and all new Kronos are X. Hopefully... :(

Thanks a lot for all the advice. I did try the synth in the shop & couldn't detect any problem. The clerk was useless -- didn't know about the keybed issues.

Looks like I'll have to sell a few things & get the X. One big solid Korg synth every 10 year is what I'm aiming at.

The reason I'm asking is because a local music shop has a deal on a 1st gen demonstrator. The rebate may not be worth it if I have to ship the machine for repair.

I'm risk-adverse, so I think I'll just ponnie up for a Kronos X 73...

Are Keybeds OK Now?

I didn't want to get the Kronos 73 when I saw all the problems early buyers were having with the keybeds. Are these issues over by now? Is it still possible to purchase a Kronos 73 with faulty 73-key keybed? I know 100% guarantee is not possible, but I've had a Triton 76 for years with ZERO issue ...

Whoohoo! New E.P Online!

Hi there,

I've uploaded a bunch of demos done on my trusty old Korg Triton sampler-synthesizer. It's mostly synth-pop like The Killers with a touch of guitar.

I'm a big fan in the standard songwriting forms such as ABACAB. Feedback welcome. 8)

There isn't a single procedure to write a song. Personally, most of my songs come from adlib singing while I do something else (working, exercising, cleaning, etc.). Then, I sit down at the keyboard or guitar & try to figure out the melodies & supporting chord structures. One thing tho: lots of ...
